Summer is here, and one of our favorite activities to do when the weather gets good is to go camping. But sleeping on rough terrain in a tent might not be for everyone, so why not rough it in comfort at KOA Leavenworth? We drove out to the site for some fun in the sun on the 4th of July weekend!

Getting to Leavenworth is only a few hours away from Seattle and the drive is worth it. Most people probably visit during the winter when the holiday festivals occur and the town is covered in snow. But the scenery is stunning in all seasons, and in the summer it gets up in the 80’s!

The KOA site is just a few minutes drive out of the center of town and conveniently located right behind Safeway. That means you are just a stone’s throw away from gas and groceries at any time, despite feeling like you’re in the middle of the woods. A complimentary shuttle goes to and from downtown Leavenworth every two hours, so you also don’t have to worry about driving and parking.

Like we said, the location may be surrounded by nature, but the grounds are filled with stupendous amenities. A gift shop surrounding the check in desk provides ample toys, clothing, and other trinkets. Outdoors there’s a pool, hot tub, communal fire area, and a basketball hoop with balls.

Pancake breakfasts are offered onsite for only $5, and the friendly staff can cater to any need. Plus, on those hot days a cold coffee or ice cream really hits the spot at their Koffee Kabin next to the pool area.
