Tucked away under a quiet, almost magical bridge lays the entrance to Granville Island. However, this island isn’t your typical secluded island getaway. Filled with shops, distilleries, art centers, performances and offering some of the best oceanfront dining in Vancouver.

The far point of the island is home to the Granville Island Hotel. Boasting magnificent views and rooms fit for a princess, it is sure to be your match.

Upon entering the hotel you are greeted with a beautiful scenic backdrop looking out at the marina. To your right you’ll have the lobby, which is decorated with a contemporary vibe. Straight down the hall is the Dockside restaurant connected to the hotel.

We had the privilege of staying in the superior queen room, which had amazing views of the Vancouver skyline looking out towards to water.

The room featured a king bed with a couch, large television with cable, mini bar, and a very spacious bathroom with a large rainfall shower.

One perk I always enjoy when visiting a hotel is the use of a hot tub. The Granville Island Hotel offers guests a unique hot tub experience with a floor to ceiling panoramic view of the Vancouver city lights

The hot tub is open year round as it is indoors, and is nestled in the gym room, which includes your basic exercise equipment. In addition to the hot tub there is a small sauna, a warm, inviting place on a cold winter day.

With most hotels in the downtown Vancouver area, you are left struggling to find street parking. Luckily, the Granville Island Hotel gives guests the option for paid parking and valet. This makes life a lot easier after a long day.

The Dockside restaurantis located on the first floor of the hotel. It serves guests breakfast, lunch and dinner. On Sundays they offer a special Sunday brunch menu. One of the packages the hotel offers is the bed and breakfast deal, which gives you a voucher to enjoy breakfast at a discounted rate during your stay.

It was so nice to not have to worry about the added expense of another meal, and the food was amazing! The first morning I tried their eggs benedict, and the second the banana bread french toast. Each meal fit the bill, and held us over till lunch. (Read our full review on the Dockside here..)
