Sit under the stars, on a perfect summer evening listening to pitch-perfect melody and making it a night to remember. That’s how it felt for our Pentatonix concert at the White River Amphitheater in Auburn, Washington. Imagine, nearly every single seat filled from children to seniors enjoying the music, while singing along and having a grand time.
On a lovely July evening the Seattle metro area lit up, as three-time Grammy award winning group, Pentatonix (PTX) took the stage with sparkly outfits, amazing lighting effects and visual backdrops.
This cappella group from Arlington, TX has been together since 2011 and over the course of 6 years has sold nearly 10 million albums, and performed for hundreds of thousands of fans at their sold out shows across the globe.
Pentatonix all started with Kirstin Maldonado, Mitch Grassi, and Scott Hoying who grew up together and were schoolmates at in Arlington, Texas. For a local radio show competition to meet the cast of Glee, they arranged and submitted a trio version of “Telephone”. Despite losing the competition, their singing sparked attention at their school, and they began performing. Their version of “Telephone” by Lady Gaga featuring Beyoncé subsequently gained attention on YouTube. Therefore, helping their career quickly blossom.
Currently, the group consists of Scott, Mitch, Kirstin, Kevin Olusola, and their newest member Matthew Sallee.
Considering their age and years being a group, PTX has earned many stardom, with nine of their albums reached the top 10 on Billboard’s 200 chart and received multiple certificates for multi-platinum, platinum and gold selling albums and singles.
I truly had an amazing time at the Pentatonix concert at the White River Amphitheater and plan to return to the venue for more fun upcoming concerts. The amphitheater is a LiveNation venue and offers concert-goers a wide selection of food and drinks, along with an outdoor theater experience.
