Inside Look: Arctic Club Seattle, JUNO

Arctic Club Seattle

Sitting under the historic Arctic Club Seattle, the JUNO Restaurant is a classy joint with high end food in a high end environment.

The Arctic Club Building is over 100 years old, and originally served as a gathering place for men who had braved their way to the Yukon and back during the Alaska Gold Rush. Now, it retains that old world charm of luxury from a century ago, and is enjoyable just to wander through the lobby.

The restaurant has both an open area of tables and booths for the typical crowd, and a cordoned off area for private gatherings. The menu is different between breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but our time at dinner convinced us it had to be the best of the bunch. A full bar and large list of unique cocktails gets you started off right, and a cosmopolitan always leaves us satisfied.

Our appetizers were the delectable crab cakes, and a unique offering of peppers. Only one in every twelve was spicy, and each bite was a surprise.

A steak is never a bad option, and JUNO offers both a New York and Rib Eye. Seafood is additionally available, but the lemongrass fried chicken is a sweet and spicy alternative that even has my mouth watering as I remember eating it.

For dessert, we can confidently say you should go out of your way to try the chocolate chip cookie. Cooked in an adorable mini skillet, it capped the meal off terrifically. Our superb waitress even supplied us with a glass of milk upon request to complement the chocolate.

This great service extended across the whole staff, from our host to the cooks who accommodated our every request. Even when our steak was a tad undercooked, they didn’t hesitate to put it back in the oven for a little longer.

The top notch service and stupendous food made for a night to remember. But breakfast through dinner, this is a premier spot for dining, and sitting in Pioneer Square, you can’t argue with that location!
