Bellevue Sugar Factory sweetens up Ladies Night

Bellevue Sugar Factory

Bellevue Sugar Factory

The Sugar Factory opened their Bellevue location last year and remains a popular eatery for those of all ages. Boasting sugary treats from their chocolate shop, and milk shakes and boozy goblet drinks, there is no doubt that this place is a favorite among teenagers and young adults.

To add to the fun, the Bellevue location recently kicked off their Ladies Night. Every Friday from 3 to 8pm ladies can expect special offerings which include complimentary mimosas, a flight of Sugar Factory’s signature cocktails in mini mason jars, and even a special menu at the main bar and chocolate lounge. You could say it’s the sweetest happy hour in town.

You must be over 21 to join in the fun and will enjoy a free mimosa after you order a menu item, plus the special flights will be paired with mini cupcakes. The special menu will include $9 offers of their shrimp cocktail, mini brie, mini scallops, and crab cakes. In addition to these sweet deals, there will be a raffle drawing every hour for the ladies! Prizes will range from large Sugar Factory ducks to goblets.

The Sugar Factory is truly a beautiful spot for any ladies night. Whether it be sporadic girls night out or a special event, the ambiance will keep you happy and feeling fancy. The decor is dominated by black and white and seems to reference those elegant American cafes from the 1950’s. It features beautiful lighting chandeliers and well-decorated tables, frames and chairs from head to toe.

In addition to sugary treats, the food features a wide variety from salads to seafood. Some of their specialty items include the rainbow sliders, which is exactly what it says.. a handful of perfectly housemade rainbow colored buns with hamburger served with their souvenir yellow Sugar Factory rubber duckie.

One of their signature goblets is a true taste of the tropics. The lollipop passion features a wonderful mix of melon, coconut and pineapple, and to top it all off it’s garnished with lollipops. One of the main reasons the Sugar Factory gets its fame is for these goblets. Each goblet is filled with dry ice to offer a fantastic smokey display. It offers for some incredible pictures and everyone in the restaurant couldn’t resist whipping out their phones to record it happening.

Their cocktail list offers a wide variety and featured our favorite the cotton candy cosmo, which came with a stick of cotton candy that you dip into the alcohol. It melts upon contact and changes the whole color of the drink, which makes for another neat visual. It takes on the taste of the cotton candy, and the rim is covered in pop rocks.

As for the food menu, you really can’t go wrong. We always like to start a meal with a salad, and to spice things up we tried the chinese chicken salad. It’s a combination of lettuce,  cabbage, ramen noodles, almonds, chicken, and my favorite, mandarin oranges. It’s a unique taste and if you’re tired of an old favorite like caesar salad, give it a try. In addition to the salad, we gave their onion rings and popcorn shrimp a taste. Fried to perfection, they came with chipotle and marinara sauce respectively.

For our entrees, our waitress recommended one of their specialties, the waffle breakfast burger, so we decided to give it a try! It was a typical patty but topped with breakfast items, like sausage, bacon, gravy, hash browns, and belgian waffles substituted for buns. There was even syrup provided to add to the breakfast taste. We also had the grilled cheese sandwich, which came with a tomato soup. The soup was perfect to dip the sandwich in and was extraordinarily tasty.

I’m sure you won’t be surprised to hear when I tell you they have a large dessert menu. From milk shakes to cakes you won’t be disappointed. They offer some pretty insane milkshakes for dessert as well, from ones with a piece of cheesecake mixed in to one topped with a mini burger.

We decided to try out a full cake, and we’ve always been fans of the red velvet cake. It is a red velvet cake mix frosted with hand whipped vanilla bean cream cheese icing, topped with white chocolate curls, and drizzled with raspberry sauce on top. It was definitely an amazing way to end the evening. If you are a coffee drinker, pair your dessert with one of their espresso drinks.

A night out at the Sugar Factory is truly one you’ll remember. Sure there’s lots of sugary treats to be had, but that’s just one of their many offerings. Drinks, meal food, and desserts can all be enjoyed, along with a unique atmosphere and prime downtown location.
