Looking for dinner and a show? You get that and more at this relaunching of local favorites, Teatro ZinZanni! After closing their long time home in lower Queen Anne, it wasn’t apparent where they would perform again. But now with a new location in Woodinville next to Chateau St Michelle and a fresh new show, they’re ready to serve and entertain all those willing.

With plenty of free parking available and a magnificent tent the presentation is quite exquisite. The interior is dominated by the dark red velvet style hangings and palace like decorations, from portraits to plush seats to an old west saloon style bar.

Dinner

The courses come in stages throughout the show. An appetizer of various vegetables, hummus, and chips are waiting for you when you sit at your table, but extra items like plates of cheese can be ordered.

The first course of Butternut squash wedding soup and dessert of smora-a-misu are fixed parts of the menu, but you have a choice for the main course between prawns, pumpkin ravioli, or our favorite, the sirloin steak. Every aspect was delicious, but the steak comes at default relatively rare, so let your server know if you’d like it more well done.

The main act

Then there’s the show itself, which is not just onstage. Your servers are also in circus costumes and bring each course to the tables dancing to music provided by the fantastic band. It’s both charming and hilarious as they hop, skip, and jump to you while carrying the plates with those stainless steel food covers.

All the seating is arranged circularly around the mainstage area, and the performers follow a vague storyline of three New Jersey sisters headed for Hollywood, only to mistakenly arrive in Woodinville. Still wanting to put on a show, they recruit some locals to help in their shenanigans, and not just the ones performing, but paying members of the audience, too!

Some of the centerpieces are traditional circus acts like hula hoop manipulation, aerial silk dancing, unicycling, and trapeze-like flying through the air. The intimate nature of the venue means the action is practically on top of you, and every seat in the house is a good one.

Wonderous costumes, catchy music, extraordinary circus stunts and scrumptious food combine for the premiere event in the northwest. Hollywood & Vine runs until April 2019.
