Seattleites get ready for Mac DeMarco and a weekend to remember. With the release of DeMarco’s fourth full-length album, ‘Here Comes The Cowboy,’ he and his band are ready for a North America and Europe tour, which kicked off earlier this month.
DeMarco will start his Pacific Northwest adventure in Oregon for two days, May 9-10, then move up the coast to Seattle, Washington with three shows, May 11-13 at the iconic live music venue, Showbox SoDo in downtown Seattle.
Forecasters are predicting May 11-13 to be a sunny 70 degree weekend for the Seattle area, which makes this show a perfect way to end your day. Tickets are $33.50 in advance and $36.00 day of.

‘Cowboy’ is the debut release on DeMarco’s newly launched record label, appropriately titled Mac’s Record Label. It was written, tracked and mixed in January at DeMarco’s Jizz Jazz Studios in Los Angeles.
Nearly every instrument on the album was played by DeMarco, aside from keyboards on select tracks by touring member and close friend Alec Meen. Traveling sound engineer Joe Santarpia helped shape the record, sharing engineering and mixing duties with DeMarco.
The simplistic album artwork features a rusty old smiley faced green pin. DeMarco explains it was purchased from a man in the mountains somewhere in the Nantahala National Forest between Chattanooga, TN and Asheville, NC.
This one is my cowboy record. Cowboy is a term of endearment to me, I use it often when referring to people in my life. Where I grew up there are many people that sincerely wear cowboy hats and do cowboy activities. These aren’t the people I’m referring to,” DeMarco explained.
The tour will zig zag across continents between North America and Europe, from California to Spain, then Texas to Sweden! Ending in Germany in November, it looks like this cowboy has a long road to ride ahead!
