Last year Toyota hit a bit milestone, 50 years! With time to celebrate Toyota released their 2017 Toyota Corolla 50th Anniversary Special Edition model. Since it’s a special edition only be 8,000 units would be released in the U.S.
We had the privilege of sponsoring Toyota during our epic adventure to the Olympic Peninsula! Along the way we stopped at Alderbrook Resort & Spa, Olympic National Park, Olympic Game Farm and Domaine Madeleine, read about all our adventures HERE!
This model comes in three colors – Black Cherry, Classic Silver and Blizzard Pearl. The Black Cherry is exclusive to just the special edition model and we had the honor to of taking this beauty for a ride!
Since the Corolla’s beginning in 1969, only 3 years after Toyota’s founding in 1966, it’s been a fit for many families, small and large. The Corolla has always been known as an affordable, roomy, dependable car and has kept its positive standing nearly 50 years later.
The designers of this 50th Anniversary Special Edition model didn’t skimp on the ‘special additions.’ There are special floor mats and exterior badges to let other drivers know you’re in a one-of-a-kind Corolla. The standard model includes 17-inch alloy wheels with dark gray inserts and the front end has superior complex-LED headlamps.
Toyota tends to keep things pretty basic, and that’s what many fans of the brand enjoy. This special addition has a few neat new technology features without going overboard and too fancy.
- 7-inch high-resolution touch-screen
- Entune Audio Plus with connected navigation
- Color 4.2-inch TFT Multi-Information Display
- Smart Key System with push button start
- Moonroof and sunroof
The Black Cherry model has special cherry colored stitching on the steering wheel, shift boot and center armrest.
One of my favorite reasons to love Toyota is that it seems they always go up and above when it comes to there transmissions. Toyota’s always drive so smooth and get up to speed when you need it, making it a fun car to drive (without the rush of a top-of-the-line sports car).
This model also comes with a push-to-start engine and a few of my favorites safety features that can be super handy to prevent collisions.
- Pre-collision system with pedestrian detection function
- Dynamic radar cruise control
- Lane departure alert with steering assist function
- Automatic high beams
To date, Toyota sells approximately 1.5 million Corollas globally a year and has grown to be one of the top car brands due to its popularity and dependability.
